About D.F.H. Real Estate Ltd.

DFH is Southern Vancouver Island's largest independent real estate company. Since 1960, D.F.H. has helped more families find homes in Victoria than any other firm.

One of the many reasons for this long-standing success is D.F.H.'s adoption of the "Golden Rule" policy in dealing with its clients. The ongoing conduct of the Realtors at D.F.H. has cemented this widespread reputation for fair dealings at all levels.

The head office was built by the company at its present location on Shelbourne St. in 1985. In addition, it has offices in Sidney, the Westshore, and the Shawnigan Lake Village.

About Myself:

I grew up on both Vancouver and Salt Spring Island.  Married Jay and followed his career to Nanoose Bay, Parksville,  Duncan, Squamish, Edmonton and Calgary; eventually making our way back to our all-time favorite city, Victoria.   Jay and I have been buying, selling, moving, renovating or building since 1976.

As for my past experience and qualifications.  Prior to having children and becoming a Realtor.  I worked in banks and an accounting department for a forest product company. I began my real estate career while living minutes west of Edmonton in Spruce Grove Alberta.  The huge trading area is referred to as Parkland County. I specialized in residencial sales which included condos, townhomes, single family homes, vacant land, acreages and farms.  With two daughters involved in all sorts of sporting and recreational activities, along with my volunteer work, I was very active in the community.   My devotion to my Real Estate Career resulted in, my being the top producer for my trading area.    Ah, yes I remember it well; the economy was depressed, the public was sure that Ralph Klein was going to drive the province to the brink of destruction; the average house price was $100,000, only 60% of all listings actually sold and it was cold!  My golden rule; "treat others as you would like to be treated yourself,"  honesty, compassion along with an extremely strong work ethic was rewarded with success at a time when many Realtors were forced to leave the business.  When your market is faced with high unemployment, financial strife, relationship realignments, bankruptcies etc. one quickly learns to deploy traits of dedication, commitment, tenacity and empathy.  The respect I'd earned from my peers and associated professionals, who's jobs were intertwined with mine, was paramount.  Looking back, I believe that being successful in that difficult market prepared me for the next phase of my real estate career.

After taking time off to relocate and get settled in Victoria, I found myself back to work in a very different market place and the weather was great!  I accepted an opportunity to work as a Buyers Agent with a top producing listing agent.   The hot market's fast pace kept me very busy and focused.  I've worked diligently to provide outstanding service to each and every person that I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with.  In early 2006 I decided it was time for a change, I joined D.F.H.  I've enjoyed working in and amongst this highly respected group of professionals and have formed a network of skilled and dedicated Realtors.

Once again due to my husband being transferred, my career has  taken on a new direction with a move to the Greater Vancouver area.  I feel extremely fortunate to be able to sell real estate in both world noticed destination areas.   We settled in a very central location with easy access to the B.C. Ferries and the International Airport.  I find the commute relaxing and enjoyable.

I continue to measure my success by the much appreciated referrals from past and repeat clients, friends, acquaintances and Realtors.

                                                                                   Sincerely,

                                                                                                 Sandy McManus
